Consequent upon the advice of the Chief Minister, Punjab to the Governor of the Punjab under clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab stands dissolved on 14 January 2023 at 2210 hours at the expiration of forty-eight hours after the Chief Minister has so advised.
Makhdoom Fawaz Ahmed son of Makhdoom Ashfaq Ahmed was born on January 9, 1987 in Lahore and is a graduate. An agriculturist, who has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in bye-elections held on October 14, 2018 against the seat vacated by Makhdum Hashim Jawan Bakht. He comes of a family of seasoned and acclaimed politicians. His grandfather, Makhdoom Sultan Ahmed served as Member Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1965-69; his father remained Member Punjab Assembly during 1995-96, 2002-07 and functioned as Minister for Environment Protection. His uncle, Makhdoom Altaf Ahmed served as Member Punjab Assembly during 1985-90, 1993-95 and functioned as Minister for Finance, Excise & Taxation, Home, SGA&ID, Colonies and Health; another uncle, Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din was Member of National Assembly for two terms during 1990-96 2008-13 and functioned as Minister of State for Finance during 1994-96; and as Minister for Planning & Development, Health, Defence Production, Textile Industry and Housing & Works during 2008-13. His uncle, Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar served as Member, Punjab Assembly during 1997-99 and functioned as Special Assistant to Chief Minister; as Member National Assembly during 2002-07, 2013-18 and functioned as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs during 2004-07. He is a sitting MNA who functioned as Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms; National Food Security & Research during 2018-2020 and is currently serving as Federal Minister for Economic Affairs. His another uncle, Makhdum Hashim Jawan Bakht remained Member, Punjab Assembly during 2013-18 and is a sitting MPA and functioning as Minister for Finance. His father’s uncle, Makhdoom Hameed-ud-Din served as Member Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1956-58, 1965-69; functioned as Minister for Food, Agriculture, Irrigation & Power and as Deputy Leader of the House during 1965-69; as Member Punjab Assembly during 1972-77; as Member National Assembly during 1962-64, 1977 (functioned as Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources); and as Senator during 1988-94.
