MAKHDOOMZADA SYED IFTIKHAR HUSSAIN GILANI, MPA

Makhdoomzada Syed Iftikhar Hussain Gilani, son of Makhdoom-ul-Mulk Syed Shamas-ud-Din Gilani (former MPA), was born in 1957 at Uch Sharif, District Bahawalpur; and, is a graduate. An agriculturist, who served as Councillor Town Committee Uch Sharif and as member District Council Bahawalpur for about three years each; and, has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. He has been elected as Chairman, Standing Committee on Services, General Administration and Information.

Sahibzada Muhammad Usman Khan Abbasi, son of Sahibzada Muhammad Daud Khan Abbasi (former MPA), was born on May 28, 1954 in Karachi; and, passed Senior Cambridge Examination in 1971. A businessman and agriculturist, who served as member Punjab Wildlife Board. He had been member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 1990 to 1993; its Deputy Speaker in 1993; and, has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, for the second term, in 1997.

MIAN NAJEEB-UD-DIN AWAISI, MPA

PP-220 (Bahawalpur): PML(N) 

Mian Najeeb-ud-Din Awaisi, son of Mian Muhammad Qasim Awaisi (former MPA), was born on February 1, 1952 at Khanqah Sharif, Tehsil and District Bahawalpur; and, is a graduate. An agriculturist, who served as Chairman Union Council Khanqah Sharif for about fourteen years; and, has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. His elder brother, Mian Shahab-ud-Din Awaisi, served as MPA from 1985 to 1996.

CHAUDHRY MUHAMMAD IQBAL, MPA

Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, son of Chaudhry Ali Muhammad, was born on March 26, 1947 in Bahawalpur; and, is an Intermediate. An agriculturist who remained member District Council Bahawalpur for four years; served as member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 1990 to 1993; and, has been elected, for the second term, in 1997.

MR SAMI ULLAH CHAUDHRY, MPA

PP-222 (Bahawalpur): PML(N) 

Mr Sami Ullah Chaudhry, son of Chaudhry Sanaullah, was born on October 21, 1968 in Bahawalpur; and, obtained B.Com. degree from Commerce College Bahawalpur in 1989. During his college career, he was elected as General Secretary Muslim Students Federation Punjab. A businessman, who served as Councillor Municipal Corporation Bahawalpur and as member Baitulmal. Presently, he is Chairman, Auto Rickshaw Union and Divisional President, Pakistan Muslim League, Youth Wing, Bahawalpur. He has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. He is Parliamentary Secretary (Ceased to hold office of Parliamentary Secretary upon proclamation of Emergency dated 12-10-99) for Food since October 13, 1997.

SYED IRFAN AHMED GARDEZI, MPA

Syed Irfan Ahmed Gardezi, son of Syed Ahmad Nawaz Gerdazi (former MPA and MNA), was born on August 7, 1971 in Bahawalpur; and, is a graduate.An agriculturist, who has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. His father functioned as Federal Minister for Food & Agriculture; and, his brother, Syed Suleman Ahmad Gardezi, as member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1988-90 and 1990-93.

MR MUHAMMAD AFZAL GILL, MPA

PP-224 (Bahawalpur): PML(N) 

Mr Muhammad Afzal Gill, son of Mr Muhammad Aslam Gill, was born on February 1, 1964 at Hasilpur; and, obtained LL.B. degree from Islamia University Bahawalpur in 1988. A practicing lawyer, who served as General Secretary, Bar Council Hasilpur; and, as member District Council Bahawalpur for about 18 months. He has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. His grandfather, Chaudhry Jamal-ud-Din Gill, too, remained member Legislative Assembly. He has been nominated by Mr Speaker as Chairman, House Committee on 29th October 1998 for a period of one year.
