      THE ALI INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION LAHORE BILL 2008 (Bill No.12 of 2008)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Ali Institute of Education Lahore Bill 2008, as recommended by Special Committee, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Ali Institute of Education Lahore Bill 2008 be passed.

Speaker Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an followed by its Urdu translation by Qari Muhammad Ali Qadri. Al-Hajj Akhtar Hussain Quraishi presented Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Questions Hour: −

Questions relating to the Home Department were asked and Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan (given additional charge) answered the questions.

Call Attention Notice:-

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. One call attention notice moved by Mr. Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry regarding death of 2nd year student by Jahanzaib s/o Ahamd Nawaz, while the other call attention notice moved by Ch. Abdullah Yousaf regarding newspaper reports of arresting and torching 20 years old student, resident of Bur, were answered by Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.   

Privilege Motions:-

Five Privilege motions were taken up. The motion moved by Mr. Sardar Shehzad Rasool Khan regarding misconduct of DDO(R) Tehsil Ali Pur District Muzzafargar, Wajid Shah was pended as the mover was not present. The motion moved by Al-Hajj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti regarding misconduct of DPO Jhang and the motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Yar Hiraj regarding compulsion of presenting report of Principle Policy, 2006 in the Punjab Assembly, were pended till next session. The motion moved by Ms. Anjum Safdar regarding misconduct of SHO Thana Jalalpur Bhattian, District Hafizabad, Rana Farzand was pended till 21st November. The motion moved by Ch. Abdullah Yousaf regarding not presenting report of The Punjab Development of Cities, 2005 and 2006 was pended till next week. These motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.     

Adjournment Motions:-

Seven Adjournment Motions were taken up. Adjournment motion moved by Mr.   Khalil Tahir Sindhu regarding not issuing possession letters by LDA to the Christian families living at Allama Iqbal Town near Science College as they have paid all dues of 3 marla plots was pended till tomorrow.

Adjournment motion moved by Ms. Azma Zahid Bukhari regarding a newspaper report of fake trading companies looting innocent people in the name of lottery was pended till tomorrow.

Adjournment motion moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik regarding a newspaper report of increasing cost of Fertilizers and artificially making shortage of DAP was disposed of and the adjournment motion moved by Mian Muhammad Rafique regarding misbehavior of bus conductor and driver were disposed off.

Two Adjournment motions were moved by Mrs. Samina Khawar Hayat regarding newspaper report of delaying payment to the private land owners for the land acquired for extension of roads and other regarding newspaper report of interference by the bureaucracy in development programmes of Punjab Irrigation Authority were disposed of.

Adjournment motion moved by Ch. Abdullah Yousaf regarding newspaper report of criminals involving in child kidnapping, disabling them and forcing them for beggary was disposed of.

These motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.     

At this time, the quorum was pointed out and the House was adjourned till 10:00 am, Friday, 21st November, 2008.
