Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Mr. Marghoob Ahmad Hamdani.

Fateha:-

The House offered fateha for the mothers of Syeda Majida Zaidi, MPA, Mr. Asif Bashir Bhagat, Dr. Asad Muazzam, Ch. Muhammad Shafique and for ex-MPA, Malik Ghullam Shabir.

Panel of Chairmen:-

The Secretary Assembly announced the Panel of Chairmen for the instant session, as envisaged in Rule 13 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997. The names of the Panel, in order of precedence, were as under:

1.         Khawaja Muhammad Islam , MPA (PP-72)

2.        Syed Hassan Murtaza, MPA (PP-74)

3.         Ms. Mehmooda Cheema, MPA (W-313)

4.        Malik Aitbar Khan, MPA (PP-19)

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Prisons Department were asked and Ch. Abdul Ghafoor, Minister for Prisons answered the questions.

At this stage the Speaker adjourned the proceedings until Thursday, January 21st at 10 Am because of some technical fault in the sound system of the House.
