      MOTION FOR RESOLUTION UNDER ARTICLE 128(2)(a) OF THE CONSTITUTION

 

            A MINISTER to move that leave be granted to move a Resolution in terms of Article 128(2)(a) of the Constitution for the extension of life of the Punjab Industrial Relations Ordinance 2010 (II of 2010).

 

            A MINISTER to move the following Resolution:-

 

RESOLUTION

 

                  “The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab extends the life of the Punjab Industrial Relations Ordinance 2010 (II of 2010), promulgated on June 13, 2010, for a further period of ninety days in terms of sub-clause (a) of clause (2) of Article 128 of the Constitution.”

 

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

 

1.   THE GLOBAL INSTITUTE LAHORE BILL 2010 (Bill No. 18 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Global Institute Lahore Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Education, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Global Institute Lahore Bill 2010 be passed.

 

2.   THE LAHORE LEADS UNIVERSITY BILL 2010 (Bill No. 17 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Lahore Leads University Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Education, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Lahore Leads University Bill 2010 be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Abid Rauf Qadri.

 

Condolence:-

 

The House offered fateha for the deceased husband of Mrs Shagufta Sheikh, MPA (W-323).

 

Question Hour:-

 

Question relating to Food Department were asked and Mr Muhammad Saeed Mughal, Parliamentary Secretary for Food, answered the questions.

 

Extension in time limit for laying the Reports:-

 

On the motion moved by Ch. Muhammad Arshad, MPA, the House granted extension up to 30th September, 2010 to the Committee on Privileges for laying its reports on Privilege Motion Nos. 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 23, 24 and 25 for the year 2010.

 

On the Motion moved by Mian Muhammad Naveed Anjum, MPA the House granted extension up to one month to the Special Committee for laying its report on the matter mentioned in the Notification dated 19th July, 2010.

 

Adjournment Motions:-

 

Two adjournment motions were taken up. One motion moved by Rana Tanveer Ahmad Nasir regarding the death of an 11 month old infant named Sufian at Mayo Hospital and the other motion moved by Major (Retd) Abdul Rehman Rana regarding leasing land to private persons by the Army in his constituency, were kept pending for next session. The motions were answered by Mr Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Minister for Finance.

 

Resolution:-

 

Mr Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna, Minister for Labour, moved a resolution in terms of sub-clause (a) of clause (2) of Article 128 of the Constitution for extension of life of ninety days of the Punjab Industrial Relations Ordinance 2010 (Ordinance No.2 of 2010); the resolution was passed unanimously.

 

The Chair read out the prorogation order received from the Governor Punjab and the Session was prorogued.
