Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Mr. Afzal Noshahi.

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Revenue (Board of Revenue) and Colonies Department were asked and answered by Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Minister for Revenue (Board of Revenue).

Privilege Motions:-

Two Privilege motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Sardar Kamil Gujar regarding misbehavior of Allahbux Sajid, Divisional Superintendent, Regional Post Office Sargodha was referred to the Privilege Committee and the other Motion of Ch Shahid Anjum regarding misbehavior of Agha Ahsan Ullah, Xen, Irrigation Department, Bahawalnagar was kept pending till Friday.   

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Extension In Time Limit For Laying The Reports:-

On a Motion moved by Malik Fiaz Ahmed, the House granted extension for one month to The Standing Committee on Labour and Human Resource for laying its report on “The In-House Working Women Protection Bill 2010(Bill No. 12 of 2010)”.

On a Motion moved by Ms. Arifa Khalid Pervez, the House granted extension for one month to The Special Committee for laying its report on “Adjournment Motion No. 92 of 2010 moved by Syed Hassan Murtaza, MPA (PP-74)”.

Adjournment Motions:-

 Sixteen Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Syeda Majida Zaidi regarding spread of Measles in Multan, the Motion moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik regarding Vocational Centre of Child Protection Bureau closed for last two years, the Motion moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding spreading of Foot and Mouth Disease in animals, the Motion moved by Syeda Majida Zaidi regarding termination of “Project Management Units” programme started by the Punjab Government for cleanliness of Lahore, the Motion moved by Mrs.‏ Samina Khawar Hayat, regarding embezzlement of funds by the Punjab Police allocated for 32 different projects was kept pending till 24-1-2011. The Motions moved by Mrs.‏ Samina Khawar Hayat regarding kidnap and gang rape of two girls at Chechawatni and Motion regarding mismanagement in Green Tractor Scheme started by the Punjab Government, two Motions moved by Ms. Sajida Mir regarding crowdedness in Camp Jail and Central Jail, Lahore and other Motion regarding non provision of separate jails for women except one jail in their respective cities rather than available at Multan, The Motion moved by Ms Humaira Awais Shahid regarding increase in agriculture loan up to 300 billion burden on the Treasury were kept pending till 20.1.2010. The Motion moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik regarding discriminatory attitude shown by S&GAD in the allotment of government residences to the Additional and Deputy Secretaries of the Punjab Assembly, the Motion moved by Mrs. Khadija Umar regarding selling of adulterated tea in Lahore, the Motion moved by Ms Seemal Kamran regarding fish dying in river Ravi due to toxic water, the Motion moved by Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar regarding construction of mosque by the Auqaf Department at Hanjarwal, Lahore in violation of rules, the Motion moved by Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Kahlon regarding lack of security at General Bus Stand, Sargodha were disposed of. The Motion moved by Sardar Khalid Saleem Bhatti regarding usage of substandard material in the construction of Sewerage Pipeline Project started at Lahore Road Burewala, district Vehari was kept pending.

Continuation Of Pre-Budget General Discussion Seeking Proposals Of The Members For The Budget 2011-12:-

Pre-Budget General Discussion Seeking Proposals from the Members for the Budget 2011-12 continued for second day. The members who participated in the discussion: Mr. Ahmed Khan Balouch, Mr. Shahjahan Ahmad Bhatti, Dr. Samia Amjad,  Makhdoom Muhammad Irtaza, Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam Raja, Al-Haaj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti, Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari, Mr.   Javed Hassan Gujjar, Malik Muhammad Waris Kalo, Mrs.‏ Shameela Aslam, Mr.   Abdul Waheed Chaudhry, Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Kahlon, Ms. Rifat Sultana Dar, Ms.   Safina Saima Khar, Syed Hassan Murtaza, Ms. Sajida Mir and Mrs. Deeba Mirza.

The House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Thursday, January 20, 2011.
