Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Deputy Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

 

Question Hour: −      

Questions relating to Auqaf Department were asked and answered by Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi, Minister for Religious Affairs and Auqaf.

 

Call Attention Notices:-

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice moved by Humaira Awais Shahid regarding death of a Jeweler naming Rana Sarfraz due to torture of Hafizabad police and the other call attention Notice of Col (R)Shujah Khanzada regarding kidnapping of Dr. Ahsan Badwal, Medical Officer by ten people, wearing police uniform were disposed of.

The Notices were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

 

Privilege Motions:-

The Privilege Motion moved by Mehr Sultan Sikandar Bharwana regarding misbehavior of Ch, Illyas, SHO Sadar, Gojra with the member concerned was referred to the Privilege Committee.

The Motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

 

Adjournment Motions:-

Fifteen Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Two motions moved by Shaikh Allaud Din, one regarding mysterious absence of 130 very expensive and prestigiously historical cannons from Mal Khanna, District Jhang and the other regarding fight between two student organizations at Punjab University, where number of students got injured, the Motion moved by Ms Rahat Ajmal regarding accidents at Kot Radha Kishan Road to Raiwind due to heavy load of tractors and trolleys moving on this road, the five Motions moved by Mrs. Nighat Sheikh, one regarding delay in the commencement of renovation and maintenance work in the Mental Hospital despite the release of Rs.5.2 Million funds for the purpose and approval of P.C, the second motion regarding receiving double payment from 12 lacs students of class 10 by eight Secondary School of Education Boards of Punjab, first Rs.100 per form for online registration and then the same amount for manual registration after online system became obsolete and redundant, the third motion regarding twenty eight Colleges in four districts of Punjab working without regular Principals, fourth motion regarding  awarding of contract worth Rs.15 crore by WASA to a non-registered firm in violation of rules and regulations to lay a sewerage system in Garhi Shahu full of technical faults which could not be completed intime and the last motion regarding non availability of effective system to keep record of stolen and snatched cars and their spare parts, resultantly expensive vehicles of people becoming useless, the Motion moved by Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad regarding the seat of professor lying vacant for years in the department of Mass Communication Punjab University and lack of interest of the Selection Board to convene meeting for the selection of professor as per advertisement were kept pending till next week. The Motion moved by Mr. Pervez Rafique regarding demolition of Christian’s sacred place “Gosha-e-Aman” located at Garhi Shahu Lahore by L.D.A staff and desecrating holy books available in the adjacent Church was kept pending till Wednesday 1st February 2012. The Motion moved by Mrs. Nighat Sheikh regarding recruitment of staff for “Janitorial Services” in the Services Hospital against rules and regulations in the presence of already inducted staff of 249 who are working in the houses of officers of the hospital, three motions moved by Mrs. Qamar Aamir Ch, one regarding collapse of a roof in a private school resulted in the deaths of 3 children and injuring 19, the second motion regarding  quick spread of new castle disease among birds in the Punjab including Lahore and the last motion regarding installation of 20 thousand illegal water connections in Lahore city on receiving payment of one thousand per connection in connivance with Deputy Director, Revenue officers and field inspectors depriving government of its legal connection fee, the Motion moved by Najmi Saleem regarding filing of a Court Case under Article 295-A against the Chief Minister of the Punjab by the Minorities for the demolition of “Gosha-e-Aman” sacred place of Christan’s Community located at Garhi Shahu and desecration of bible and other holy books were disposed of. 

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

At this stage, Deputy Speaker welcomed the Honorable Guests Mr. Sajid Illyas Bhatti, President Rawalpindi Bar Association and Mr. Malik Imran, General Secretary, Rawalpindi Bar Association, who came to witness the Assembly proceedings.

The House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Tuesday, January, 31, 2012.
