Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Suspension of Rules:-

On a motion moved by Mr. Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Minister for Human Rights under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rules 27,42,71,84 and others of the rules ibid, for discussion on New Local Government System.

General discussion on New Local Government System:-

General discussion on New Local Government System continued second day. The following members participated in the discussion:- Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal, Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Mst. Hina Pervaiz Butt, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Qazi Ahmad Saeed, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Malik Taimoor Masood, Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed, Mr. Asif Mehmood, Mr. Amjad Ali Javaid, Mr. Ahmed Khan Bhachar, Mr. Zulfiqar Ghori, Mrs.‏ Nabela Hakim Ali Khan, Mrs.‏ Tamkeen Akhtar Niazi, Rana Munawar Ghous Khan alias Rana Munawar Ghous Khan and Mr. Jamil Hassan Khan.

The House was then adjourned till 3:00 pm on Thursday 15^th August, 2013.
