1.   THE PUNJAB COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN BILL 2013 (Bill No. 10 of 2013)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women Bill 2013, as recommended by Special Committee No.1, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women Bill 2013, be passed.

2.   THE PUNJAB SHOPS AND ESTABLISHMENTS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2013 (Bill No. 14 of 2013)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Bill 2013, as recommended by Special Committee No.1, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Bill 2013, be passed.

3.   THE PUNJAB MINIMUM WAGES FOR UNSKILLED WORKERS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2013 (Bill No. 13 of 2013)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Minimum Wages for Unskilled Workers (Amendment) Bill 2013, as recommended by Special Committee No.1, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Minimum Wages for Unskilled Workers (Amendment) Bill 2013, be passed.

4.   THE PUNJAB PAYMENT OF WAGES (AMENDMENT) BILL 2013 (Bill No. 11 of 2013)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Payment of Wages (Amendment) Bill 2013, as recommended by Special Committee No.1, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Payment of Wages (Amendment) Bill 2013, be passed.

Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour:

Questions relating to Zakat & Ushr and Excise & Taxation Departments were asked and Malik Nadeem Kamran, Minister for Zakat & Ushr and Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Minister for Excise & Taxation answered the questions.

Fateha:-

The House offered fateha for Mr. Abdul Qadir Mullah, Leader Jamat-i-Islami who was sentenced to death in Bangladesh for his involvement in war crimes.

Privilege Motions:-

Two Privilege Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mr. Ahmed Khan Baloch regarding misbehavior of Secretary Prosecution with the member concerned and the other Motion of Mian Muhammad Rafique regarding threatening call received by the member concerned by a close relative of District Police Officer Toba Tek Singh, who was involved in torturing innocent people and real owners of some land against influential and corrupt people and also tampering the police record were referred to the Special Committee No. 1 with the direction to submit their reports within one month.

The Motions were answered by Mr. Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Two Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Dr. Nausheen Hamid regarding shortage of life saving medicine for AIDS patients in the Punjab was disposed of and the other Motion moved by Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar regarding fixation of sugarcane price at Rs.230/- instead of Rs.170/- per ton and that sugar cane crushing should be allowed to those sugar mill owners who have paid previous dues of the farmers was kept pending till next session.

The Motions were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Consideration and Passage of Bill:-

Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, moved THE PUNJAB MINIMUM WAGES FOR UNSKILLED WORKERS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2013 (Bill No. 13 of 2013). which was passed by the House:

Motions under Rule 150(1):-

On a motion moved by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs under Rule 150(1) of Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, the House unanimously approved the motion to elect Standing Committees and other Committees in accordance with the agreement between Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition.

On a motion moved by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs under Rule 150(1) of Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, the House unanimously approved the motion to refer matters under consideration by Special Committees to the concerned Standing Committees.

On a motion moved by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs under Rule 150(1) of Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, the House unanimously approved the motion to refer Reports of Auditor General of the Pakistan, earlier under consideration by previous PAC-I and PAC-II and remained suspended and also those reports which were referred to the Special Committee No. 1 were referred to the newly elected PAC-I and PAC-II with the direction to submit their reports within one year.

The Chair read out the Prorogation Order of the Governor Punjab and the House was then prorogued.
