Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour:−                          

Questions relating to Environment Protection Department were asked and answered by Minister for Environment Protection Department, Col (R) Shuja Khanzada.

Privilege Motion:-

The Motion moved by Dr. Nadia Aziz regarding misbehaviour of Vice Chancellor, Mr Akram Chaudhry and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Zahoor Elahi with Members of the Punjab Assembly, who were attending the meeting of Syndicate at University of Sargodha was kept pending till next week.

Adjournment Motions:- 

Three adjournment motions were taken up. Two motions moved by Sheikh Ala-ud-Din one regarding incompetence of Motorway Police deputed at Lahore Multan National Highway, due to which this Highway has become one of the dangerous roads in the world, the second motion regarding illegal possession and transfer of 4300 acres of Land of “Bhratri Trust” located in Layyah by the Qabza group, were kept pending.

The Motion of Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema was disposed of as mover did not move the motion, as Opposition was demonstrating in front of Speaker’s Desk on non allocation of development funds to Opposition members.

The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

“GENERAL DISCUSSION ON LAW AND ORDER”

General discussion on law & order did not take place because the Opposition members categorically refused to participate in debate which was put on agenda on the requisition of Opposition. Due to rumpus and sloganeering by the Opposition Members the Acting Speaker adjourned the House till 3:00 pm on Monday, May 26, 2014
