Rana Muhammad Iqbal, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −  

Questions relating to Cooperatives Department were asked and Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, Minister for Cooperative answered the questions.

Adjournment Motion:-

The Adjournment motion of Sheikh Ala-ud-Din regarding non acceptance of DNA test as strong evidence in the cases of rape by Islamic Ideology Council as envisaged in its current judgment, was taken up and answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs and was disposed of.

Suspension of Rules:-

On motions moved by Malik Nadeem Kamran, Minister for Zakat & Ushr and Mr Ramesh Singh Arora under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and others of the rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolutions respectively.

Malik Nadeem Kamran Minister for Zakat & Ushr moved a resolution on Youm-e-Takbeer falling on 28 May and paid homage to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan world’s seventh and first Islamic Atomic Power, which has made the defence of Pakistan invincible, despite immense international pressure and that Pakistan will become an ideal country with regard to economic and social progress under his steering leadership. The House also paid homage to Chief Minster Punjab, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for his tireless efforts and hard work for national development and selfless service to make Punjab prosper and developed province. The resolution was passed by the House.

The following resolution moved by Mr Ramesh Singh Arora was passed by the House, which called for the need to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak founder of Sikh religion on official level and declare public holiday on the day.

Government Business:-

GENERAL DISCUSSION ON EDUCATION

The House could not take up general discussion on education due to worst rumpus made by the Opposition Members.

The Chair read out the Prorogation Order of the Governor Punjab and the House was then prorogued.
