Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Question Hour
Questions relating to Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, Transport and Planning & Development Departments were asked and Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Chohan, Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Mr. Ahmad Karim Qaswar Langrial, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning & Development answered the questions while questions relating to Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal were deferred due to the absence of concerned Minister/Parliamentary Secretary.
Adjournment Motion
The Adjournment Motion moved by Ch Ashraf Ali Ansari regarding the courier company appointed by Excise & Taxation Department that failed to deliver lacs of number plates of vehicles to their owners in Gujranwala, was kept pending.
GOVERNMENT BUSINESS
Introduction of Bill
Mr. Khalil Tahir Sandhu, Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs Introduced the following Bills, which were referred to the Standing Committee on Local Government & Community Development with the direction to submit its reports within two months:-
1. The Punjab Local Government (Sixth Amendment) Bill 2016; and
2. The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2016.
General Discussion
Discussion on Annual Activity Report of Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore for the Year 2014-15.
On a Motion moved by Mr. Khalil Tahir Sandhu, Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs, Mr. Sajjad Haider Gujjar, Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering initiated the discussion on Annual Activity Report of Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore for the year 2014-15.
The House was then adjourned till Monday, October 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
