Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool ﷺ.

Panel of Chairmen

In terms of Rule 13 (1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, Rai Mumtaz Hussain Babar, Senior Secretary Punjab Assembly, announced the Panel of Chairmen nominated by Mr. Speaker in the following order:-

1.         Mian Manazir Hussain Ranjha (PP-31)

2.         Mr Majid Zahoor (PP-140)

3.         Dr. Nausheen Hamid (W-356)

4.         Mr Munawar Ahmed Gill (PP-127)

Fateha

The House offered Fateha for martyrs of suicide attacks at Charing Cross Lahore, Sehwan Sharif, Quetta, Charsadda local court, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and on the sad demises of mothers of Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Minister for School Education and MPA Mr. Muhammad Asif Bajwa, Advocate and Malik Muhammad Zahoor Anwar, MPA, PP-23.

Question Hour

Questions relating to Communication & Works Department were asked and Mr. Muhammad Naeem Safdar Ansari, Parliamentary Secretary for Communication & Works answered the questions.

The Calling Attention Notices were kept pending till Thursday.

Laying of Reports

Ch Muhammad Akram, MPA, presented before the House the report of Standing Committee on Education in respect of The Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill 2017 (Bill No. 3 of 2017).

At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was then adjourned at 06:24 p.m. to meet on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
