In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Makhdum Syed Ahmad Mahmud, Governor of the Punjab, on the advice of the Chief Minister Punjab, dissolved the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on 20 March 2013.

Mr Ijaz Ahmed Khan son of Mr Muhammad Ashiq Khan was born on October 1, 1969 in Lahore. He graduated in law in the year 1991-92 from Punjab University Law College, Lahore. A diligent, renowned, meticulous and upright lawyer who has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2008. He is a member of Central Working Committee, PML(N) Lawyers Forum since 2001. His leading participation in the movement for restoration of democracy and judiciary made him behind the bars for a long time and is a matter of pride and a symbol of his unflinching faith in the rule of law and supremacy of the parliament.
