Col (Retd) Naveed Iqbal Sajid son of Ch Muhammad Sharif was born on April 4, 1959 at Liaqatpur, District Rahim Yar Khan. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 1976 and obtained the degree of B.Sc. (Hons) War Studies in 1990 from Pakistan Army Staff College, Quetta and that of MA (Economics) from Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai University, Sukhar. He retired from the army as Colonel in 2001. He has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2008. His nephew and brother-in-law, Ch Shaukat Mehmood Basra is sitting member of Punjab Assembly from PP-283.
