Ms Saghira Islam widow of Ch Muhammad Islam (late) was born in India. She obtained the degree of MA in 1978 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. She is engaged in teaching and served as Principal “Islam Academy” during 1984-2006. She remained Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab for three terms during 1977, 1988-90 and 2002-07; and has returned to the Assembly for the fourth term in general elections 2008 against one of the seats reserved for women. She remained Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development from 31January 2009 to 26 February 2011. |
