Dr Samia Amjad wife of Dr Muhammad Amjad was born on March 4, 1957 in Jessore, East Pakistan. She obtained the degree of M.B.B.S. in 1983 from Nishter Medical College, Multan and also passed M.C.P.S examination in 1994. She served as Member District Council during 2001-02; is a Member of Public Safety Commission, Khanewal since 2002; and is functioning as President, Pakistan Society of Family Physicians for last twelve years. She is a practising medical specialist, who has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002 against one of the seats reserved for women, and has been elected Chairperson, Standing Committee on Population Welfare on September 5, 2003.
