A MINISTER to move that leave be granted to move Resolutions under Article 128(2)(a) of the Constitution for extension of the following Ordinances:

1.RESOLUTION FOR EXTENSION OF THE SUGAR FACTORIES (CONTROL) (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 2020 (XIII OF 2020)

 

A MINISTER to move that the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab extends the period of validity of the Sugar Factories (Control) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XIII of 2020), promulgated on 24 September 2020, for a further period of ninety days with effect from 23 December 2020.

 

2.RESOLUTION FOR EXTENSION OF THE SUGAR FACTORIES (CONTROL) (SECOND AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 2020 (XIV OF 2020)

 

A MINISTER to move that the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab extends the period of validity of the Sugar Factories (Control) (Second Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XIV of 2020), promulgated on 14 October 2020, for a further period of ninety days with effect from 12 January 2021.

 

3.RESOLUTION FOR EXTENSION OF THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 2020 (XVI OF 2020)

 

A MINISTER to move that the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab extends the period of validity of the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XVIof 2020), promulgated on 02 November 2020, for a further period of ninety days with effect from 31 January 2021.

 

4.RESOLUTION FOR EXTENSION OF THE COMPANIES PROFITS (WORKERS’ PARTICIPATION) (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 2020 (XVII OF 2020)

 

A MINISTER to move that the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab extends the period of validity of the Companies Profits (Workers’ Participation) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XVII of 2020), promulgated on 02 December 2020, for a further period of ninety days with effect from 02 March 2021.

 

5.RESOLUTION FOR EXTENSION OF THE PUNJAB OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS COMMISSION ORDINANCE 2020 (XVIII OF 2020)

 

A MINISTER to move that the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab extends the period of validity of the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission Ordinance 2020 (XVIII of 2020), promulgated on 11 December 2020, for a further period of ninety days with effect from 11March 2021.

MOTION UNDER RULE 127 OF THE RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PUNJAB, 1997 AND RESOLUTIONS UNDER ARTICLE 128 (2) (a) OF THE CONSTITUTION

 

On a motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, under Rule 127 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, the House granted leave for taking up the Resolutions under Article 128(2) (a) of the Constitution for extension of the following Ordinances which were extended for a further period of ninety days from the date of their expiry:

 

1. The Sugar Factories (Control) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XIII of 2020);

 

2. The Sugar Factories (Control) (Second Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XIV OF 2020);

 

3. The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XVI of 2020);

 

4. The Companies Profits (Workers’ Participation) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XVII of 2020); and

 

5. The Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission Ordinance 2020 (XVIII of 2020).

 

 

 

Laying of Ordinance

 

Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs laid the following Ordinances before the House, which were referred to the concerned Standing Committees with the directions to submit their reports within two months:

 

1.         ​The Sugar Factories (Control) (Second Amendment) Ordinance 2020;

 

2.​         The Punjab Board of Technical Education (Amendment) Ordinance 2020;

 

     3.​        The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance 2020;

 

4.​         The Companies Profits (Workers’ Participation) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020;

 

     5.​        The Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission Ordinance 2020;
