2.   THE PUNJAB REGULATION AND CONTROL OF LOUDSPEAKERS AND SOUND AMPLIFIERS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2007 (Bill No.2 of 2007)

 

 

            A MINISTER to introduce the Punjab Regulation and Control of Loudspeakers and Sound Amplifiers (Amendment) Bill 2007.

 

 

3.   THE PUNJAB WILDLIFE (PROTECTION, PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT) (AMENDMENT) BILL 2007 (Bill No.3 of 2007)

 

 

            A MINISTER to introduce the Punjab Wildlife (Protection, Preservation, Conservation and Management) (Amendment) Bill 2007.

 

 

4.   THE PUNJAB FORENSIC SCIENCE AGENCY BILL 2007 (Bill No.4 of 2007)

 

 

            A MINISTER to introduce the Punjab Forensic Science Agency Bill 2007.

SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS

02 March, 2007

 

 Sardar Shaukat Hussain Mazari, Deputy Speaker, assumed the chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran.

 QUESTION HOUR:-

Questions relating to the Education Department were asked and answers were given by Chaudhry Nazar Hussain Gondal, Parliamentary Secretary for Education.

RESOLUTION:-

Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs moved the following resolution to appreciate the services of Mr. Saeed Ahmad, Secretary Punjab Assembly, retiring from service on 4 March 2007, which was unanimously passed by the House.

 ADJOURNMENT MOTIONS:-

Two Adjournment Motions were taken up. Adjournment Motion moved by Lala Shakeel-ur-Rehman was kept pending till 5 March 2007.

 While Adjournment Motion pending since last session was moved by Mr. Abid Hussain Chatha. The motion was about unlawful collection of toll tax by the contractor on Lahore- Faisalabad road at 5 different points from the vehicle owners. Moreover, Rs. 2 lacs instead of Rs. 5000 fixed fee was being received from CNG and petrol pump owners on account of Right of Way fee. The motion was answered by Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs and was disposed of.

 PRIVILEGE MOTIONS:-

Seven Privilege Motions were taken up. Out of which four Privilege Motions of Ch. Muhammad Shafiq Anwar, Ms Lubna Saqib Malik and Ms Nighat Parveen were disposed of due to their absence.

Three Privilege Motions moved by Ms Samina Naveed (Advocate), Sheikh Tanvir Ahmad and Ch. Tasneem Nasir were kept pending on the request of movers.

LAYING OF COMMITTEE REPORTS:-

The following reports were presented before the House.

1.                  Sibghat Ullah Chaudhary laid the report of the Standing Committee on Finance on “The Punjab Pension fund Bill 2006 (Bill No. 28 of 2006)”

2.                  Ch Abdullah Yousaf Warraich laid the reports of Standing Committee on Home on “The Punjab Border Military Police (Amendment) Bill 2006 (Bill no 26 of 2006)” and another private Bill. “The Punjab Prevention of Domestic Violence Bill 2003 (Bill No. 29 of 2003)” moved by Ms Anjum Amjad.

3.                  Mr Faiz ul Haq Chohan laid the reports of Standing Committee on Revenue, Relief and Consolidation on “The Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2006 (Bill No. 27 of 2006)” and another private bill “The Punjab Prohibition of Private Money Lending Bill 2003 (Bill No. 24 of 2003)” moved by Ms Humaira Awais Shahid.

  

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS:-

1.      “The Punjab Destitute and Neglected Children (First Amendment) Oridance 2006 (Ord. II of 2007)”, was laid by Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja Minister For Law and Parliamentary Affairs and referred to the Standing Committee on Home for report by 30 April 2007.

2.      “The Punjab Regulation and  Control Of Loudspeakers and Sound Amplifiers (Amendment) Bill 2007 (Bill No. 2 of 2007)”, was laid by Minister For Law and Parliamentary Affairs and referred to the Standing Committee on Home for report by  30 April 2007.

3.      “The Punjab Forensic Science Agency Bill 2007 (Bill No. 4 of 2007)”, was laid by Minister For Law and Parliamentary Affairs and referred to the Standing Committee on Home for report by 30 April 2007.

4.      “The Punjab Wildlife (Protection, Preservation, Conservation and Management (Amendment) Bill 2007 (Bill No. 3 of 2007)”, was laid by Minister For Law and Parliamentary Affairs and referred to the Standing Committee on Wild Life for report by  30 April 2007.

The House was then adjourned till 3.00 pm on Monday, 5 March 2007.
