      THE PUNJAB LAND REVENUE (AMENDMENT) BILL 2006 (Bill No.27 of 2006)

 

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2006, as recommended by Standing Committee on Revenue, Relief and Consolidation, be taken into consideration at once.

 

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2006, be passed.

 Ch Muhammad Afzal Sahi, Speaker, assumed the chair and proceedings commenced with the recitation from the Holy Quran.

 

QUESTION HOUR:-

Question relating to Social Welfare, Bait-ul-Maal and Information Departments were asked and answers were given respectively by Mr Muhammad Ejaz Shafi, Dr Tahir Ali Javed and Chaudhry Zaheer ud Din Khan, the Ministers concerned.

 

CALL ATTENTION NOTICE:-

The first Call Attention Notice was moved by Advocate Lala Shakeel-ur-Rehman regarding the robbery at jeweler’s house looting gold worth ten million. The notice was disposed of after being replied by Mr Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

 

The second Call Attention Notice of Mr Arshad Mehmood Baggu regarding the bomb blast at Multan, causing death of three victims and injuries to a judge. The notice was disposed of after being answered by Mr Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

 

ADJOURNMENT MOTIONS:-

Two Adjournment Motions were taken up. Out of which Adjournment Motion moved by Sheikh Ijaz Ahmad concerning giving extension in service to vice chancellors of four universities, principals of two colleges etc, was disposed of as it was answered by Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Chaudhry Nazar Hussain Gondal.

 

The other Adjournment Motion moved by Haji Muhammad Ejaz Stating that professors were not visiting their departments in hospitals and free medicines were not being provided to the patients. The Motion was disposed of as it was answered by Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr Farzana Nazir.

 

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY RESOLUTION:-

The amended resolution was passed which paid rich tributes to those ladies who had worked for rights of women in the country. The resolution urged the Government to make efforts more effective towards rights of women. It also demanded steps to safeguard rights and dignity of women according to Islamic teachers. The Treasury member Advocate Misbah Kokab stated that the Government began the process of providing the rights to women, allowed representation of women in all walks of life and took other measures like passing of Women Rights Protection Act. Rana Sanaullah Khan, Mr Sami Ullah Khan, Mr Arshad Mehmood Baggu, Ms Azma Zahid Bokhari, Sheikh Ijaz Ahmad, Syed Abida Javed also commented on the World Women’s Day.

 

 

Mr Speaker welcomed the Parliamentary Delegation coming from Argentina during the session in the Speaker Box.

 

GOVERNMENT BUSIENSS:-

Mr Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved the Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2006 which was considered and passed by the House. .

 

 The House was then adjourned till 09.00 am Friday, 09 March 2007.
