Discussion and Voting on Demands for Grants 2018-2019

41 Demands for Grants were presented before the House and Opposition had given five cut motions against the budget allocated for Police, Health Services, Agriculture, Education, and Housing & Physical Planning Departments, which were not carried out due to the boycott of the Punjab Assembly session by the Opposition. Hence, the Demands for Grants in respect of Police, Health Services, Agriculture, Education, and Housing & Physical Planning Departments for the fiscal year 2018-19 were moved by Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, Minister for Finance before the House for discussion and were passed. While the remaining Demands for Grants were separately voted upon and passed by the House in terms of Rule 144 (4) of Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997.

The Punjab Finance Bill 2018 (Bill No. 27 of 2018)

Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, Minister for Finance moved “THE PUNJAB FINANCE BILL 2018 (Bill No.27 of 2018)”, which was passed by the House.

Laying of the Schedule of Authorized Expenditure for the year 2018-2019

Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, Minister for Finance laid before the House “THE SCHEDULE OF AUTHORIZED EXPENDITURE FOR THE YEAR 2018-2019”.

On the completion of agenda, Mr Parvez Elahi, Speaker Punjab Assembly, paid tribute to Prime Minister Imran Khan for all his efforts that he is making to elevate Pakistan’s economy especially on his successful visit to Saudi Arabia. He further added that the entire House was grateful to him for giving Punjab Province, a Chief Minister belonging to a middle class and all of us should support him to make Punjab an ideal province. He felicitated the Chief Minister for presenting a people friendly and balanced budget despite financial constraints and also appreciated members for fully and actively participating in the budget session.

The Chair then adjourned the House sine die.
