Questions relating to Communication & Works and Environment Protection Departments were on the agenda. Mr Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Minister for Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries, replied to the questions related to Environment Protection Department in terms of notification issued by S&GAD empowering him to look after the Assembly Business and to reply to the Assembly questions. However, questions relating to Communication & Works, were kept pending because the concerned Minister Sardar Muhammad Asif Nakai, Minister for Communication & Works was not present.
Motion under 83(e)
Two Adjournment Motions of Choudhary Ashraf Ali and one Adjournment Motion of Malik Taimoor Masood, were disposed of in terms of Rule 83 (e) of Rules of Procedure of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, because general discussion on Health was on agenda of the day.
The Adjournment Motion moved by Choudhary Ashraf Ali regarding 25 out of 40 schools for special children in six district of Gujranwala region are operating in rented buildings without any facility since 13 years, providing education to 4500 special children/students, was disposed of after being replied by Mr. Muhammad Akhlaq, Minister for Special Education.
GENERAL DISCUSSION ON HEALTH
On a motion moved by Mr Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs the general discussion on Health commenced and Ms Yasmin Rashid, Minister for Primary & Secondary Health and Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education initiated the discussion. She said that the previous governments were not following international agreements in which every person is entitled to universal/health coverage and every citizen should have health facility physically as well as monetarily. She further added that this government has initiated the facility of health cards in 36 districts of Punjab whereby 40 million people shall be benefited by it.
At this stage, the quorum was pointed out at 11:16 p.m. which remained incomplete after ringing bells for five minutes and the Chair adjourned the House for fifteen minutes. On resumption at 12:04 p.m. the quorum was still incomplete and the House was then adjourned at 12:06 p.m. to meet on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 03:00 p.m.
