The House offered Fateha on the sad demise of mother of Mr. Muhammad Jahanzaib Khan Khichi, Minister for Transport and grandfather of Chaudhary Muhammad Adnan, MPA (PP-11).

Question Hour

Questions relating to Primary & Secondary Healthcare and Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Departments were asked and the concerned Minister, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, answered the questions.

Call Attention Notice kept pending on 06 December 2018

The Call Attention Notice kept pending on 06 December 2018 was taken up. The Notice moved by Mr. Muhammad Tahir Pervaiz regarding murder on resistance during dacoity of an overseas Pakistani at Bambawala Police Station, Tehsil Daska, District Sialkot, was kept pending.

Current Call Attention Notices

The Notice moved by Choudhary Ashraf Ali regarding dacoity of cash and jewellery worth rupees twenty million during a wedding ceremony by dacoits at Kala Ghumna Kapurwali, police station Muradpur, District Sialkot and injuring Mr. Qamar Abbas and the second Notice moved by Mr. Mannan Khan regarding injuring students and a passerby due to aggressive firing by the dacoits and inability of police to reach in time at the place of incident despite the fact that information had already been received by it, were kept pending.

Adjournment Motion

Choudhary Ashraf Ali moved Adjournment Motion regarding increase in the air pollution due to the smoke emitting vehicles specifically in District Gujrat as well across the whole Province of Punjab, despite the fact that District Government on one hand is arranging walk and seminars in Gujrat on smog awareness among public. The Adjournment Motion was kept pending till its reply by the Department.

General Discussion

General Discussion on Health

Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Minister for Primary & Secondary Healthcare and Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education initiated general discussion on Health. She apprised the House that Health Department being signatory to Sustainable Development Goals is taking policy decision dealing with nutrition, poverty alleviation and accessibility to health facility to everyone. She further added that Health Department in near future is providing health coverage to almost 40 million people of Punjab by providing them health insurance cards in 36 districts. Moreover, her ministry is focusing on strengthening primary and healthcare units, hence, five hospitals and three nursing colleges are going to be constructed in rural areas. She added that 2507 Basic Health Units will also be functional by the end of this government’s tenure and Regional Health Authorities are going to be started soon so that power should be devolved to them. She informed the House that today i.e. on 10-12-2018, her department in collaboration with Schools Education Department had also started School Health Service which would be available in all the schools of Punjab during the term of present government.
