Introduction of Bills
Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs introduced the following Bills before the House, which were referred to the concerned Standing Committees with the directions to submit their reports within two months:
1. The Sugar Factories (Control) (Second Amendment) Bill 2021
2. The NAMAL University, Mianwali Bill 2021
Questions relating to Mines & Minerals Department were asked and answered by Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Call Attention Notices
Five Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice moved by Mr Muhammad Tahir Pervaiz regarding rape of 9-years old girl Komal on 17 January 2021 within the premises of Police Station Raza Abad Faisalabad, was kept pending. The Notice of Mr Ali Akhtar regarding raid by Police at the residence of Mr Umar Hayat, located at 240 More, Mohalla Ismaeel Abad within the premises of District Faisalabad Police Station City Jaranwala, hurting women present in the House, hence, encroaching their right to be protected and the Notice of Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan regarding dacoity of rupees five lacs on gun point from Mr Shahzad resident of Nizam Pura at Jagowala Chowk Chunian within the premises of Depalpur Road Dolaywala Kasur, were disposed of. The Call Attention Notice moved by Ms Uzma Kardar regarding murder of a girl after rape within the premises of Police Station Garh Maharaja and FIR No.183/21 was lodged with Police Station Garh Maharaja, District Jhang and the Notice moved by Ms Sadia Sohail Rana regarding murder of three pedestrians on spot by Deputy Commissioner who was drunk and driving official vehicle rashly on 13 May 2021 at Chak No.103/7-R Near Harapa, District Sahiwal, were disposed of after replied by Mr Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Four Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Ms Neelum Hayat Malik regarding immediate increase in the price of milk and yogurt from Rs.20 to 30 per KG in Lahore and Gujranwala City during the month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak breaking all previous records and administration restraining to take action on this self-created price hike by farmers, the second Motion moved by Ch Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar regarding inequality done to English Teachers who had not been upgraded to Grade-16 rather their cadre was changed from graduate to non-graduate and demanded implementation of Service Rules enacted and notified in 2004, the third Motion moved by Syed Hassan Murtaza regarding mushroom of Industries in PP-95 Constituency of the Member concerned, which were throwing waste and poisonous chemically contaminated water in drains, resulting in infertility of agricultural land, contaminated underground water, spread of hepatitis disease and elimination of river fish, which was violation of rules and regulations enacted by Environment Department and employees of the said department were overlooking this violation as they were indulged in corruption and the fourth Motion moved by Chaudhary Mazhar Iqbal regarding non-availability of angiography machine at THQ Hospital Fort Abbas, Bahawalnagar due to which heart patients had to move to far-flung areas like Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad etc., which resulted in expensive treatment of such patients, were kept pending as the concerned Ministers were not present.
General Discussion on Agriculture was initiated by Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi, Minister for Agriculture. Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari and Ms Uzma Kardar participated in the discussion.
