RESOLUTION
Ms Sarah Ahmad moved a resolution highlighting successful hosting of the First Joint Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Asia and South Asia regional conference by the Punjab Assembly in Lahore. The House unanimously adopted the resolution. |

This House acknowledges with great pride that the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, under the leadership of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan and the Assembly Secretariat, successfully hosted the 1st Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Asia and South-East Asia Regional Conference in Lahore, Pakistan. This House recognizes that this Conference is the largest International parliamentary Conference hosted by Punjab Assembly, marking a historic moment in the country's parliamentary and diplomatic landscape. This House commends Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan for his visionary leadership, planning, and dedication in organizing this prestigious event, along with the Assembly Secretariat, which has significantly enhanced Pakistan's global Image as a nation committed to democratic values, parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation. The Conference brought together parliamentarians and parliamentary staff from numerous countries including Sri Lanka, Maldives, the United Kingdom, Zambia, and Malaysia. The Conference facilitated meaningful discussions on regional governance, sustainability, artificial intelligence regulation, climate change, health and education. By taking this initiative and welcoming foreign delegates to Pakistan, this combined effort has projected a positive and progressive image of Pakistan to the world. This House further appreciates that Lahore, the cultural and historical heart of Pakistan and its people have once again demonstrated their tradition of warm hospitality, impressing the international delegates with their rich heritage, inclusivity, and generosity. This House recognizes that this successful event has reaffirmed Pakistan's capability to host large-scale international conferences, strengthening its position as a key player in global parliamentary engagement and intergovernmental relations. This House also appreciates all members of the Punjab Assembly for their contributions to this achievement. This House further extends its gratitude to everyone who served for this conference, especially all the security personnel and officers, whose dedication and professionalism ensured the safety and success of the event. Special appreciation is extended to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her support and patronage, without which this accomplishment would not have been possible.
