Consequent upon the advice of the Chief Minister, Punjab to the Governor of the Punjab under clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab stands dissolved on 14 January 2023 at 2210 hours at the expiration of forty-eight hours after the Chief Minister has so advised.

Personal Career & Interests

Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan son of Rana Muhammad Chiragh was born on July 6, 1942. He served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88, 1988-90, 1990-93 and 1993-96; also functioned as Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab during this period. He has returned unopposed to the Assembly for the fifth term in bye-elections 2008 against the seat vacated by Rana Abdul Sattar, who had won both National and Provincial Assembly seats and had vacated the Punjab Assembly seat.
