Syed Akhtar Hussain Rizvi son of Syed Muhammad Hussain Rizvi was born on May 30, 1948 at Chawinda, District Sialkot. He obtained the degree of M.A. (Political Science) in 1972 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. An agriculturist, who served as Councillor and Chairman, Municipal Committee Chawinda from 1983 to 1991; and, in that capacity, he visited Korea and China in 1986. He also served as Member Town Committee, Chawinda for 12 years. He remained Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88, 1993-96 and 1997-99; and served as Member Education Committee during 1985-87 and as Member PAC during 1993-96. He has returned to Punjab Assembly for the fourth term in General Elections 2002. He worked as Minister for Labour and Human Resource from January 4, 2003 to November 30, 2006. He is functioning as Minister for Agriculture Marketing since December 1, 2006.
