Personal Career & Interests

Mrs Nishat Afza graduated from University of the Punjab, Lahore and obtained the Diploma in Modern Techniques of Leadership and Management from U.S.A. During college days, she was Chief-Girl, President Dramatic Club, Captain volley ball team, President College Debating Society and won many awards/prizes for best debator. She served as Member Social Action Board; Member Bait-ul-Mal Committee; and Member Crime Control Committee. She has attended various National/International Seminars/Conferences held in Pakistan and abroad. She is an eminent social worker and is serving as President Free Legal Aid Centre; she is also an office bearer and active participant of various women social welfare organizations and NGOs. She collected and provided extensive aid material to war affectees during Indo-Pak Wars. She is a poet and a writer who writes regularly in different journals. She resided in China, Saudi Arabia, UK and USA for long periods; and has also traveled to many other countries including Canada, Italy, France, Iceland and UAE. She has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002 against one of the seats reserved for women. Her daughter Ms Fariha Razzaq Haroon is a sitting Member of Sindh Assembly.
